PROJECTS FILMED IN 1000 ISLANDS REGION The Travel Channel filmed Boldt Castle for a feature segment in their one-hour television program entitled, Great Castles of the United States (originally aired in 2005). See the Travel Channel's web article Castles and Palaces: Newest, Oldest and Most Beautiful Castles in America.
Your Private Island television series produced for and aired on the Fine Living Network, filmed a 1/2 hour segment on the 1000 Islands at Raleigh Island, Ontario (episode 204, first broadcast Spring/Summer 2003).
Country music recording artist JoDee Messina filmed her music video for "Burn" at Boldt Castle on Heart Island and in Clayton, NY.
Divers Down Television filmed two segments on St. Lawrence River wreck diving at Brockville, Ontario. Programming was produced for and aired on NESN (New England Sports Network).
WPBS-TV, PBS member station, located in Watertown, NY produced the Jefferson's Table Series in partnership with Jefferson Community College. The series higlights local history and cuisine and includes area recipes. Episodes specific to the region: Maple Syrup: A Taste of Our Home, A Guilded Age Picnic, Haunted Halloween and Beer and Bullets.
WPBS-TV also produces a number of nationally-syndicated outdoor programs, many of which are filmed in the region. Now in its 20th season, Bill Saiff's Rod & Reel often incorporates fishing in the eastern basin of Lake Ontario as part of its programming. Popular hunting series, Cabin Country, has highlighted waterfowl and game hunting in the region.
